Fondant or Buttercream Wedding Cake

It has been very hot and humid here in Malaysia. This is not a cake-friendly weather. Frostings melts looking droopy and it has been a decorator's nightmare.  Hope the rain will cool down the heat soon.

Couples can opt for either buttercream or fondant for their wedding cake. Fondant icing is flexible sugar dough that can be transformed to a eye-catching, gorgeous cake. Fondant cakes are smooth and beautiful, but the fondant is sweet and chewy.

Buttercream icing, on the other hand, is delicious and complements the cake flavors. Even if they are not as versatile as fondant, buttercream cake can be beautiful on its own. It is also cheaper than fondant cakes. 

When deciding on your cake, please consider your designs, budget and theme of your wedding. Consult with your cake decorator for the best frosting choice for your wedding.
